A video will be shown on March 15 between services. Parish Fellowship will serve root beer floats.

THANK YOU to everyone for the cards, prayers and visits following my recent hip surgery. I’m home and working on recovering. - Sue Klosner

Week one, March 8, is Souper Week...bring in cans of soup, vegetables, tuna, etc. Week two, March 15, is Lend a Helping Hand Week. TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “The Fish and Bread Sign.” A crowd of at least five thousand men, plus women and children, gather to hear Jesus preach. When challenged to find a way to feed the hungry crowd, the disciples question how this is possible. Using just five barley loaves and two fish, Jesus feeds them all, with abundant leftovers. Discuss, “How does God provide food for His people today?”

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN to sign up for bringing or serving coffee time goodies. Please check the schedule to make sure your dates still work, or sign up if you don’t have a date. All are welcome to participate. You are asked to bring four dozen treats. The schedule is on the round table in the fellowship hall.

NO BELL CHOIR OR SENIOR CHOIR practice this week.

BLOOD PRESSURES will be taken next Sunday between services in the church office.

CONSIDER THIS: The prayer chain is a simple way that you can minister to those in our church family and even people you’ve never met. How does it work? People call our prayer chain leaders, Anna Johnson and Bev Spoor with a prayer request. They call the first person in each of 12 groups with the request and those people call the next person on the list in their group on down the line. The main point is that you then include the prayer request in your prayers. If you’re interested in being a part of this ministry, please call the church office at 732-9783.

FROM CHAPLAIN BAIN: My latest mission has been completed and I am back at our HQ. I am very pleased to share that the coffee creamers have arrived and are a big hit with our formation. I am always amazed at how such a small gesture can make such a big impact on one's day. We continue to remain thankful for the congregation's generous support throughout our deployment. It has been a true blessing. You shall remain in my prayers as we begin the process to come home. Hopefully we will be back for the Easter celebration. That would be a great way to transition back to the home front. Please pray for us as we bring our mission to a close and redeploy soon. Have a blessed day! Thank you to those who donated to help send items to Chaplain Bain!

BLOOD DRIVE COMING SOON! We are hosting the Vitalant (formerly known as United Blood Services) blood drive here at St. Johns on Monday, March 16, noon to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday March 17, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Patients need blood every day for treatments, surgeries, and emergencies. TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “A Life Restored.” Jairus, a synagogue ruler, comes to Jesus, begging Him to heal his critically ill daughter. Along the way, servants come with news of his daughter’s death. Taking along Peter, James, and John, Jesus ignores the mourners, takes the young girl by the hand, and tells her, “Arise.” And rise she does, demonstrating Jesus’ power over death itself.

TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “The Wine Sign.” While Jesus and His mother are guests at a wedding in Cana, Mary asks Him to assist the wedding hosts, who have run out of wine. In Jesus’ first recorded miracle, He changes a large volume of plain water into wine that is superior to what has already been served. Those who witnessed this miracle marveled at what He had done. Discuss, “What wonders does God still work through His people?”
