TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “Fishers Follow.” Spotting some fishing boats by the shore of Galilee, Jesus turns Simon Peter’s boat into a floating pulpit. He preaches from the boat and then commands the disciples to put out to fish. Although they had fished all night without a catch, now they find their nets full to bursting. Recognizing his sinfulness, Peter falls down in front of his Savior and Lord, who calls him to a new kind of fishing. Ask, “How does God help us recognize our sinfulness? How does He rescue us from our sins?”

THANKS FROM CHAPLAIN BAIN: We extend our New Year's greetings from the desert! Needless to say, the past week or so has been a little more stressful than we would have liked. By God's grace, tensions have eased and hopefully wiser decisions will be made as we move further into this new year. As for Easter, if all remains reasonably calm, it appears as if we might be back home around the Easter weekend. That is what we are planning. There are many facets to this operation which are beyond our control. We shall continue to pray for God's direction and safety for this planning process. Yes, the booklets you sent were appreciated. We are well resourced right now. I will try to provide better information about our scheduling when it becomes more certain. Thanks again for your ongoing support. Please share our thanks to the congregation. They have been a great blessing for us during this deployment. Have a blessed day! - CH (CPT-P) Vince Bain

OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE and sympathy is extended to Bonnie Lehrke and family as they mourn the passing of Bonnie’s grandson, Clayton Lehrke. We pray that God would grant them peace and rest from their sorrow.

TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “Claimed and Tested.” At Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River, the heavens open, the Spirit descends, and the Father speaks: “You are My beloved Son.” Jesus goes from baptism to the wilderness, where He faces a series of temptations from the devil. He resists each one as He speaks the truth of God’s Word against the lies of Satan. Ask your children, “How can we use God’s Word as we defend our faith?”

MANY THANKS to the crew who took down all the Christmas decorations and put them away.
