Jesus teaches His disciples-and all humankind-the prayer used throughout the Church to this day. Jesus follows His instruction with a parable illustrating how our heavenly Father unfailingly hears all our prayers. As a family, challenge one another to recite the Lord's Prayer from memory.

Main Street Living is broadcast Sundays at 9:00 a.m. on KVRR Fargo-Moorhead or watch online at www.mainstreetliving.com, “North (Fargo).”

TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “The Fish and Bread Sign.” A crowd of at least five thousand men, plus women and children, gather to hear Jesus preach. When challenged to find a way to feed the hungry crowd, the disciples question how this is possible. Using just five barley loaves and two fish, Jesus feeds them all, with abundant leftovers. Discuss, “How does God provide food for His people today?”

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN to sign up for bringing or serving coffee time goodies. Please check the schedule to make sure your dates still work, or sign up if you don’t have a date. All are welcome to participate. You are asked to bring four dozen treats. The schedule is on the round table in the fellowship hall.

NO BELL CHOIR OR SENIOR CHOIR practice this week.

BLOOD PRESSURES will be taken next Sunday between services in the church office.

CONSIDER THIS: The prayer chain is a simple way that you can minister to those in our church family and even people you’ve never met. How does it work? People call our prayer chain leaders, Anna Johnson and Bev Spoor with a prayer request. They call the first person in each of 12 groups with the request and those people call the next person on the list in their group on down the line. The main point is that you then include the prayer request in your prayers. If you’re interested in being a part of this ministry, please call the church office at 732-9783.

FROM CHAPLAIN BAIN: My latest mission has been completed and I am back at our HQ. I am very pleased to share that the coffee creamers have arrived and are a big hit with our formation. I am always amazed at how such a small gesture can make such a big impact on one's day. We continue to remain thankful for the congregation's generous support throughout our deployment. It has been a true blessing. You shall remain in my prayers as we begin the process to come home. Hopefully we will be back for the Easter celebration. That would be a great way to transition back to the home front. Please pray for us as we bring our mission to a close and redeploy soon. Have a blessed day! Thank you to those who donated to help send items to Chaplain Bain!

OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE and sympathy is extended to Roberta Jaschob on the recent passing of her brother, Robert Schiedler and brother-in-law, Martin Mortensen. We pray that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may give her peace and rest from her sorrow.

LISTEN to the Lutheran Hour Sundays on KPRM 870 AM at 9:30 a.m., or KTIG 102.7 and 95.9 FM at 5:00 p.m. You can also listen on Sirius XM Family Talk Channel 133 on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. or any time on lhm.org/sentradio. This week - “Families and Joseph’s Tears.” Next week - "Know How."

ON MAIN STREET LIVING NORTH: Today Rev. Leo Deitemeyer, First American Lutheran, Mayville, ND, presents the message: "The Heart of the Matter: A Holy Heart," based on Matthew 5:21-37, plus I Samuel 16:7. Next week, Rev. Tim Schiller, Good Shepherd Lutheran, Alexandria,  presents “Jesus’ Transformation Is for Our Transformation” based on Matthew 17:1-9.  Main Street Living is broadcast Sundays at 9:00 a.m. on KVRR Fargo-Moorhead or watch online at www.mainstreetliving.com, “North (Fargo).” If you don’t get the Fargo channel, Main Street Living (Twin Cities) is broadcast Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. on WFTC channel 29/9-2. These programs are different than the ones on the Fargo channel.

TODAY’S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON is “A Life Restored.” Jairus, a synagogue ruler, comes to Jesus, begging Him to heal his critically ill daughter. Along the way, servants come with news of his daughter’s death. Taking along Peter, James, and John, Jesus ignores the mourners, takes the young girl by the hand, and tells her, “Arise.” And rise she does, demonstrating Jesus’ power over death itself.

ALL YOUTH in grades 5-12 are invited to go tubing at Detroit Mountain today. We’ll meet at church at 3:00 p.m. and return around 7:00 p.m. Cost is $10 with a family cap of $20 plus snack money. Friends are welcome. You must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian before we leave. They are available at church or print one here. Sign up on the sheet at church or with Pastor Newton at 815-222-1359.

SENIOR CHOIR PRACTICE has been moved to Thursday at 5:00 p.m. this week.

THANK YOU to everyone who bought chocolate goodies for the Death by Chocolate bake sale last week. We raised $750 for the music ministry.

OUR LENTEN SERVICES begin Wednesday, February 26 with Ash Wednesday. The noon service will be followed with a lunch by the Ladies Aid. A meal will be served by the youth at 5:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 6:00 p.m. The theme is “Letters from God.” Each week we will be reading an Epistle from the Bible. This Wednesday, it will be 1 Thessalonians.

CHECK OUT the greeting cards in the social hall. Prices went up to $6 with our current order but you can still get the boxes we had before for $5. This a great deal! Compare getting twelve cards for $5 versus one card at the store for that much. There’s a great selection for all occasions. You can drop your payment in the slot in the cupboard or at the church office.
