A NOON CONCERT will be held at Calvary Lutheran on Thursday, July 25 featuring Tea Renee. Tea is a jazz vocalist who will perform such jazz classics as “Autumn Leaves” and “Summertime.” She is currently studying song writing and vocal performance at Berklee College of Music. The concert begins at 12:15 p.m. Coffee and treats are provided. Bring your lunch and enjoy a great concert.

NEXT SUNDAY we will be taking a special door offering following both services to help with expenses for two groups from Minnesota North District who are traveling to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane recovery and to minister to the large elderly population there. Please consider a special gift to help this ministry.

THE HUBBARD COUNTY Food Shelf is eligible to receive funds from “OPEN YOUR HEART SUMMER CHALLENGE GRANT” for the month of July. Donations during the month will be matched dollar for dollar up to an aggregate amount of $4,000. Your donation may be sent to HCFS, 308 Pleasant Ave, Park Rapids, MN 56470, or dropped off at the food shelf. They are open Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. This grant is timely as the food shelf is in the process of converting to an electronic registration system for its clients and is need of funds to support this effort.

CHI ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPICE is hosting their 32nd Annual Chicken Dinner on Friday, July 19 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion. The menu features a full chicken dinner and our regionally famous Brownie Sundae Bar! Adults $10, Children ages 4-10 $5. Children under age 3 eat FREE! All proceeds will benefit CHI St. Joseph’s Hospice.

PASTOR NEWTON has begun a new Bible study on the book of 1st Kings between services in the social hall.

AT OUR JUNE VOTERS MEETING the assembly voted to go ahead with the kitchen remodeling project but with the wild and crazy weather we were having it was a little unclear about how to proceed with financing the project so we will have a special voters this morning following the 8:00 a.m. service to go over things and clarify how we wish to proceed. We hope it will be a short meeting and that all voters will attend.

A VBS MEETING will be held today after the second service. If you’re interested in helping with VBS please come to the meeting or call Sarah Kaufenberg at 651-260-3350.

The concert begins at 12:15 p.m. Bring your lunch and enjoy the music. Coffee and treats are provided.
