OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE and sympathy is extended to Barb Stendahl and family as they mourn the death of her husband, Paul. We pray that they would find comfort and peace in the presence and promises of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

TODAY is the last day of Sunday School for the year. Preschoolers continue with Little Lambs and 6th and 7th graders with the New Testament. Kdg. - 5th grade lesson is “Isaac and Rebekah.” A big thank you to our Sunday School staff–Brandi Backmann, Sarah Kaufenberg, Staci Harvey, Tori Harju, Nancy Ganske, Shelley Lof, Ruth Knaack, Jerry and Michele Werder and Lori Griess.

OUR CONGREGATION celebrates with eight of our younger members - Kelsey Berghuis, Kobe Burton, Avery Clark, Isabelle Croskrey, Natalie Harvey, Trinity Heegard, Miriam Knaack and Grace Litzau - at their Rite of Confirmation at the 10:30 a.m. service today.

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK for Tuesday and Wednesday Bible studies and then we will take a break for the summer.

THE “LUNCH BUNCH” will meet at West Forty on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. All widows and widowers are welcome to join them.

SPLASH CANYON Vacation Bible School is coming up June 4-8 and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Check the bulletin board in the front lobby for items we need for VBS. CHI ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTH will have a low impact fitness and balance class starting June 5 and running for six weeks on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the lower level conference room A. Cost is $36 and the registration deadline is June 1. Call Krystal or Marissa at 218-616-3000 to register.

OUR BI-ANNUAL VOTERS MEETING will be held on Tuesday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. All confirmed members age 18 and over are eligible to become voting members. If you are a voting member and can’t attend, please call the church office to be excused. 

“HOW TO CALM STRESS AND ANXIETY” will be presented by Jim Otremba on Saturday, June 9 at Concordia Lutheran Church, South Haven, MN. The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Cost is $35 per person and includes lunch. To register pick up a flyer on the bulletin board in the hallway.

INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKERS, Bible Study, and entertainment will be offered at the LWML Minnesota North District Convention June 18-20. The convention will be held at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, MN. Opening worship will be held on Monday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m.

GIVING BACK - Todd and Tracy Hughes were amazed and so thankful for the financial help they received from members of St. Johns when Todd was dealing with cancer. They are also thankful that they’ve now been able to help others by giving a gift to our social ministry fund. God provides!

ABC PRESCHOOL has had a busy year. Now it is time for those children heading for Kindergarten to “graduate” at a special program on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The younger class will celebrate the year end with a program on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Thank you to our teachers, helpers and special volunteers who work so hard to make the program great!

THE 28TH BIENNIAL DISTRICT Convention of the LWML Minnesota North will be June 18-20 at the Sanford Center, Bemidji, MN. The theme is “Forever Written in His Hands” (Isaiah 49:16a NKJV). More details and registration forms can be found in the 2018 spring issue of the Minnesota Northern Light newsletter and on the District website: lwmlmnn.org. Make plans to attend.

A VBS PLANNING MEETING will be held today after the 10:30 a.m. service in the library. If you’d like to help with Vacation Bible School, we’d love to have you join us.

A CHURCH yard clean up is planned for Saturday, May 12 at 9:00 a.m. We will be repairing sod, cleaning up sticks and debris and checking the playground equipment to make sure its in shape--along with other projects. All help is welcome!

“O CHICKEN OF LITTLE FAITH,” a musical, will be presented by the Children’s Choir on Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. Faith is spending the summer with her grandparents and learns some important faith lessons when she has to round up her grandma’s runaway chickens.
