OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE and sympathy is extended to Edith Noeske and Mary Warble as they mourn the passing of their brother, Lewis Ackerman. We pray that Christ may give them peace and comfort in their sorrow.

THE NEXT NOON CONCERT will be held here at St. Johns on Thursday featuring Sarah Carlson, Jon Romer and Claire Carlson on pipe organ and flutes. The concert begins at 12:15 p.m. Bring your lunch and enjoy the music. Coffee and treats are provided.

LOST AND FOUND: If you have lost a dish, cake pan, coat, gloves, etc. find it on the lost and found table in the front lobby.

SHIRLEY POTTER is missing her 13X9 stainless steel cake pan with her name on it and the word “gourmet” on the bottom. Check to see if maybe you picked up her pan instead of yours. Thanks!

WE ARE CURRENTLY accepting volunteers for the 2018/2019 Sunday School year. We are searching for teachers and classroom helpers! Classroom helpers are a great way to serve if you would like to be involved in our Sunday School program, but are not quite comfortable teaching. WE HAVE regular print ESV Bibles available to purchase for $15. Stop in to the church office if you would like to buy one.

THIS MONTH’S CHRISTIAN MOVIE at St. John’s in Akeley is “I Can Only Imagine.” It will be shown on the Friday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. “Movie” popcorn, pop and water will be served during the movie.

ALL YOUTH IN GRADES 5-12 are invited to come tubing down the Crow Wing on Tuesday, July 24. We’ll meet at church at 1:00 p.m. and return around 5:00 p.m. Cost is free but space is limited. Sign up by Pastor Newton’s office.

DID YOU PICK UP your pictorial directory? Everyone who had their picture taken last year gets a free one and we still have several here. Please check the box in the front lobby by the lost and found table and see if there’s one with your name on it.

THE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER will have a garage sale on July 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the center’s location, 200 6th St. W. Come and find great bargains. If you would like to donate goods to support the sale, please call the center at 732-5212 to arrange a time convenient for you or just stop by during the center’s open hours: Mon.-Thurs. 10:30 a.m.-4:00 pm.

THE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER Golf Scramble will be teeing off on the afternoon of August 5 at Eagle View Golf Course. Cost is $50 per person or $200 per 4 person team. Free meal and prizes awarded after the scramble, including $100 to the first place team. For more information, to register, or to sponsor, please call the PRC at 218-732-5212. This as a great way to enjoy a game with friends and support the gift of life.

THIS MORNING is the installation of Rev. Joel Newton as our Associate Pastor and wife, Sarah Newton, as our deaconess. A brunch will be served following the service. We will also have a card, gift card and cash shower for the Newtons to help them set up their new home here. We are happy to have you join us in welcoming the Newtons to our church family.

WE’RE COLLECTING items for the Battered Women's Shelter and the Village of Hope (Homeless) to send to the LWML convention. Please bring in the following new items: laundry detergent, reams of paper, bleach, 33 gallon trash bags,  towels & wash cloths, toilet paper, full size bottles shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, bars of soap, diapers all sizes and wipes, nail polish, files, clippers, combs, brushes, hair spray, hair dye, Walmart and Target gift cards, gas cards, hair cut cards ($10-$20 range). Items should be brought to church today. Thank you for helping people facing a crisis.

PLEASE PRAY for the LWML Minnesota North District Convention being held this week at Bemidji, as delegates and guests gather for Bible study and worship; delegates conduct the business of adopting mission grants and a new mite goal, elect officers and make bylaw changes. All gather in witness and fellowship “...to serve the Lord with gladness.” Psalm 100:2

SINCE 1955, Heritage Living Center has served the Park Rapids area. Their new, state of the art building is complete and they are so excited to celebrate this accomplishment. Heritage Living Center welcomes you to attend it’s Grand Re-opening and Open House on Tuesday, June 19 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. There will be a brief ribbon cutting ceremony, tours  and refreshments. Please join them as they celebrate their brand new center at 619 West 6th St. in Park Rapids.

ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN in Akeley will be showing the Christian movie, “All Saints,” on Friday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

PLEASE JOIN US next Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for a special worship service to install Rev. Joel Newton as our Associate Pastor and wife, Sarah Newton, as our deaconess. Please note: there will be only one service next Sunday at 9:30 a.m. A brunch will be served following the service.
